New Bracelet Style

Love Love Love the product I just learned how to make last weekend.  I've made two of these so far, one with the two hole Tila beads, and one with round crystals.  They look entirely different but they both look amazing.

Here's a picture of the original one that I made.  Dark purple leather cord, hematite colored Tila beads and Crystal colored fire line with a Swarovski crystal button as the clasp.

I've gotten so many compliments on it, and it's very versatile.  The crystal one I made is only a double wrap instead of a triple like this one.  It's also a great option for an anklet now that the season is coming up.

This is the original leather and Tila bead version

This is the blue and gold crystal  with black leather cord

I have another class on Friday afternoon to learn how to make stringable beads out of crystal bicones.  I'll be sure to post pictures of those sparkly little nuggets.

Happy Record Store Day today and Happy Earth Day tomorrow, everyone!

Beads Beads Beads

Just got back from my spring break trip to Hawaii where I was hoping to find some fun beads, unfortunately that didn't happen as planned, the one store I found was very limited in their selection.  The good news is, I'm signed up for two new classes at my local bead store that I frequent regularly.

I did get some beading done on the flight to Hawaii and I'm getting together with a friend on Sunday to do some beading and finally learn the peyote stitch, so I'll have a couple new pictures to share.

I've also decided that for 2012, $1.00 or 10% whichever is larger for each individual sale, will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project...Please take a look at the cause, it's really great, here's a link to learn more about what WWP is

Here are some pictures of things that I've made recently and haven't posted.

The peach pearl and crystal bracelets turned out amazing.  They get washed out in this picture.

Quick Update

My first Jewelry was a pretty big success, got my name out there, people got to see my style and I sold a bunch of things I had made over the last couple months and took three special orders.  Thank you to all who came over and purchased jewelry.  $1.00 from every item sold in 2011 will be going to Partners in Health.  2012's charity is yet to be decided...I've narrowed it down to the Wounded Warrior Project, and JDRF.  I'll keep you posted and will work on updating my blog more often once exams are over, the next week's going to be crazy and I'm not going to have any time for beading...Bummer.

My First Jewelry Party Coming Up Soon!!!

Invites have been sent out, my inventory has grown and I just put in an order for more supplies online.

I'm very much hoping this is successful, I've had some really great luck with selling my products at work and would really like to sell at a local craft fair next year, but it all depends on how sales go before then.

Here are some newer pictures.  I made a crazy amount of jewelry in the last month or so, for the open house party.  I'll have pictures posted soon of all of those too.

Updates

Hey folks,

Just started a fund raising opportunity to help get some product and income going so I can continue to purchase and make jewelry to help Partners in Health, please check it out.  click me click me :)

In other news, school's been crazy crazy busy and I haven't had much time to bead recently, but I'll be going on a trip to some fun islands in a few weeks on spring break, so I'm hoping to find some fun beads, and I'm putting together an order on firemountaingems.com to refresh my inventory of basic things as well.

Here are some pics of a couple things I've had time to do.

Needle and Thread Projects

Tedious...Yes
Frustrating...Sometimes
Tricky...At times.

Needle and thread beading projects can be frustrating and tricky, and even yes, tedious, but they turn out so great.  Here are three that I've made myself.

This one is made of pearls and crystals, I'll try to find a picture of the purple crystal and white pearl one I made, it's great.

This is made out of glass beads, it can be made with pearls and crystals too, this is the first class I took, and I've made it in a bunch of great color combinations.

This is a pendant made out of crystal.  It looks great on everything from a silver chain to a ribbon or leather band.
